INDIANA UNIVERSITY Founded in 1820, Indiana University Bloomington is the biggest of IU's eight campuses and the largest in the state. From its humble beginning as the "State Seminary" and only 12 students graduating in the first year, IU now ranks in the top 50 universities in the United States.
